My Mother's Day started out blissfully as David got up early with Hudson and allowed me to sleep in. Then I was awoken by David and Hudson with hugs, kisses and a little gift and cards brought to me in bed! Hudson bought me some really soft, comfy pajamas that I cannot wait to lounge around in. David then made me breakfast and we just relaxed for a bit before going out to run some errands. It was a wonderful morning and I felt really pampered, especially since I was able to sleep in...that was the BIG thing for me! It doesn't take a lot to make me happy, ya know! :)
Around noon or so, we went to Target to get a couple of things we needed for around the house and ended up walking out with two new pairs of shoes and a ton of new t-shirts and shorts for Hudson. You would have thought it was Hudson Day! He made out like a bandit, too. Gotta love Target! After our shopping trip, we went back home to have lunch before heading out to my parents house to see my mom and dad. Well, D.J. had texted me while we were at Target and he had wanted to make sure that we let him know when we were going to my mom's because he wanted to come over as well and see Hudson. (He had already gone to see my mom last night, but hadn't seen Hudson in a couple of weeks, so he was "jonesing" to see him, ha!) We ended up hanging out at my parents for a couple of hours and then went by D.J.'s place because he had just recently moved in and we hadn't seen it yet. After hanging out there for a bit we finally headed back home for the evening. By this point it was already after 6 pm and was time for dinner. David made the most fabulous Hawaiian marinated chicken on the grill along with some super yummy baked red potatoes wedges smothered with a concoction of bacon bits, ranch dressing, shredded cheese and I don't know what else, but it was SO GOOD! All-in-all, we had a great day, it was a wonderful Mother's Day for me and now...it's just time to relax and get a few more things done tonight before it's back to work tomorrow. We've got a busy week ahead, so I am glad that we were able to have such a nice weekend. :)
Oh, and Marcia brought me this lovely bouquet last night as an early Mother's Day gift. It's super sunny and cute and I LOVED this little unexpected surprise! It definitely brightened my day even more and adds the perfect splash of color atop the table in our kitchen nook!
