Two birds with one stone....

The ever-growing amount of toys that are scattered around our living room, dining room and practically everywhere downstairs is starting to get a bit out of control. As a way to help with controlling the "clutter", I would like to purchase a storage bench for our main living room area that we can use to stow away some of Hudson's toys so that it doesn't always look like a tornado went through our living room. I have been looking online for options for quite some time now, but kind of forgot about it for a while until the crazy slew of toys started to irk me again this past week. We haven't made a final decision on the perfect piece yet, but I would really prefer to "kill two birds with one stone" so to speak and get something nice that not only will be used for storage of the massive toy invasion, but could also be used as additional seating for when we have guests over vs. getting an impractical wooden storage bench. Right now I am leaning towards a dark chocolate brown toned leather storage bench and think it would perfectly complement our existing decor without looking too matchy-matchy. David on the other hand, kind of thinks it will stick out like a sore thumb....I think I will obviously have the pursuading opinion on this purchase, but will let him marinate on it a bit longer until he realizes that I am right. ;) In any case, here is a picture of one option that I really love and am truly considering buying once "we" make a final decision.

This is the dark brown leather storage bench that I have been eyeing for a while now...it is the perfect size for where I want to put it in the living room and I think it will provide a nice contrast of color and texture with what we already have in the space.

This is another storage bench that I recently found. It is upholstered with an ivory and chocolate brown damask fabric and I think it is really cute, although I am not too sure that it would look too great in our space and I am fairly positive that it would be much too feminine looking for David. I still thought it was cute anyways and it is incredibly affordable.

JCPenney online of all places! You can pick your fabric too...the damask was just one of the choices that they have available. :)
